Cabot / Tarrant PLP Workshop #1 Agenda

Cabot PLP— Professional Learning

One of the core elements of Vermont’s flexible pathways initiative is the implementation of personalized learning plans (PLPs) for all students. This work transcends content areas—schools that are most successful in implementing flexible pathways adopt a team approach to designing systems that support and inspire students. With our experience in PBL, Cabot is uniquely poised to be a leader in this process. Let's rock it!

TODAY -
Inspire > Define > Design > Act

Goals:

  • to begin to cultivate a shared vision for personalized learning at Cabot School
  • to view personalized learning (and PLPs) as an opportunity rather than an obstacle
  • to provide teachers with concrete strategies for helping students document and reflect on their learning.
    • introduce tech tools (e.g. blogger)
    • reflection prompts/strategies
    • how often? where?
    • exemplars
    • pitfalls

  • to leave with a couple of clear take-aways—what can I do in my class tomorrow?

  • to set the stage for ongoing professional learning around PLPs and identify concrete “next steps” for the next workshop.

Launch -

  • Know yourself as a learner activity
